Iconic Coatings has added a new, in-line parts washer to ensure proper cleaning and etching of all metals, ensuring the highest level of paint adhesion.
Importance of Surface Preparation in Metal Finishing (Powder Coating & Liquid Coating)
Surface preparation is universally recognized as the single most critical step in achieving durable, high-quality metal finishes—whether powder coating or liquid (wet) paint. Industry consensus is that proper surface preparation accounts for 70–90 % of the success or failure of a coating system. Poor preparation is the leading cause of virtually all coating failures: peeling, blistering, corrosion, poor adhesion, orange peel, and premature degradation.
